Catherine is currently serving as Co-Chair of the Victorian New Fellows Committee.

Prior to returning to Victoria, Catherine undertook general practice training and several years of practice in remote and very remote regions of the Northern Territory (NT), working predominantly within the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health sector. She is committed to improving education and training, health system performance and clinician wellbeing, and to this end has served in various roles, including as the inaugural NT representative on the National Faculty of General Practitioners in Training and as Vice President External of the Australian Medical Students' Association. Catherine has worked as a medical educator, was a member of the RACGP Curriculum Review Committee during the most recent curriculum update and has also regularly participated in accreditation teams for the Australian Medical Council in the specialist and prevocational programs. Her interest in improving patient safety and health system performance led her to participate in the Victorian Department of Health's Clinicians in Redesign Program as an Innovation and Quality Medical Officer as a prevocational doctor, and various quality improvement programs.

Beyond clinical medicine Catherine has a strong interest in public and planetary health, and in particular, exploring the nexus between climate change, health and equity. She is currently completing her Masters of Applied Epidemiology at the WHO Collaborating Centre for Reference and Research on Influenza through the Australian National University National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health.
