Dr Antony Bolton

Dr Antony Bolton is an experienced general practitioner who works across both an addiction service and a community health service in the northern suburbs of Melbourne. His clinical work focuses on providing comprehensive, patient-centred care, particularly for individuals with complex health needs related to alcohol and other drug use.

Prior to relocating to Melbourne, Dr Bolton completed his general practice training in Sydney. He is originally from the United Kingdom and brings an international perspective to his medical practice and education. He has undertaken additional specialist training in addiction medicine and completed a Master’s degree in research at the University of New South Wales, where he currently holds the position of Adjunct Associate Lecturer, contributing to academic teaching and research activities.

Dr Bolton is also a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Melbourne and has a strong passion for medical education. He enjoys teaching and mentoring medical students and junior doctors, supporting their development in both clinical skills and professional practice.

In addition to his clinical and academic roles, Dr Bolton is actively involved in medical leadership and advocacy. He currently serves as Chair of the Alcohol and Other Drugs Committee, is a member of the AMA Victoria Council, and has previously held the role of President of General Practice Registrars Australia.
