AGPT registrars can commence applying to practices for the 2025.2 placement round through the Training Management System (TMS) from Monday, 28 April. Due to this, we are anticipating higher-than-usual traffic to our TMS. Although this may result in slower load times, we will actively be monitoring TMS performance and making necessary changes to remediate any issues. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding.

The Child Information Sharing Scheme (CISS) allows authorised organisations to share information to support child wellbeing and safety. Many organisations already collaborate under this scheme, which enhances their ability to gather and share comprehensive insights into the needs of children and families.

By improving information sharing, we can identify wellbeing and safety needs earlier ensuring children receive the best support possible.

The CIS Grants program aims to enhance workforce awareness and capability in using the CISS to promote child wellbeing and safety. It also builds confidence in applying the Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme (FVISS within the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management Framework (MARAM) when there is a risk of family violence involving a child.

Our project will focus on embedding a culture of child information sharing within prescribed organisations and workforces, empowering GPs and healthcare professionals to proactively support child safety. This initiative will:

Improved early risk identification and intervention: Enable professionals to identify and address risks sooner.

Cultural shift in information sharing: Transition from risk-averse attitudes to a more collaborative and open approach.

Increased service collaboration: Enhance integration between child and family services.

Support for children's participation: Promote active engagement and inclusion of all Victorian children in services.

CISS aims to enhance child wellbeing and safety outcomes by expanding the scope for sharing confidential information. This will:

  • Improve early intervention and risk identification.
  • Transform a risk-averse culture into one that supports information sharing.
  • Foster increased collaboration among child and family services.
  • Ensure all Victorian children receive the support they need.

Promote cross-sector collaboration: Embed shared responsibility for CISS to support child wellbeing and safety.

Engage diverse workforces: Build understanding and capability in using CISS among workforces serving Aboriginal communities, diverse groups, and those experiencing vulnerability.

Address workforce gaps: Increase awareness, support CISS embedding and enhance workforce confidence and capacity.
