The Australian Medical Council (AMC) has accredited the RACGP Rural Generalist Fellowship (FRACGP‑RG) training program, confirming it meets national standards for specialist medical training. The Medical Board of Australia (MBA) has recognised Rural Generalist Medicine as a field of specialty practice within general practice and approved the FRACGP‑RG as a qualification for specialist registration.

Applications for specialist registration are now open. Eligible doctors can apply through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra).
