Rural Generalist RPLE checklist


1. Evidence of Additional Rural Skills Training meeting one of the below

 
  • 1.1 Formal qualification relevant to ARST discipline  

  • 1.2 No formal qualification for the ARST discipline 

  1. Template Mapping Experience Against Curriculum 
  • Support Letter from Specialist in Chosen Area 
    • Letter from a recognized specialist in your chosen area of practice confirming your skills and experience. 
    • Letter should outline your level of expertise and ability to work autonomously in that area. 

  • 1.3 Hold FRACGP and FACRRM by assessment 

    • Evidence of FACRRM by assessment and currency of AST skill 
  • 1.4 Other Relevant Evidence (optional) 

    • Any additional documents, certificates, or evidence of additional training or experience that supports your RPLE application. 
    • Include details on specialized training, rural-focused education, or experience gained through relevant work. 


2. Evidence of Rural and Remote Experience meeting one of the below 

  • 2.1 Statement of Service from Practice(s) in an MMM3-7 Location 

    • A statement of service from a rural practice (MMM3-7 location) indicating a total of 12 months Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) within the past 5 years. OR 
  • 2.2 Additional Documentation 

    • Any supplementary evidence that demonstrates your engagement in rural or remote general practice  
    • Rural general practice should demonstrate continuity of care provided to the same community. This may be for a continuous period of no less than 4 weeks, or recurring shorter service periods to the same communities over many months or years. 


3. Evidence of Core Emergency Medical Training (EMT) meeting one of the below 

  • 3.1 Evidence of Current Hospital Credentialing for Emergency Services  

    • Evidence of current hospital credentialing allowing you to provide emergency services in a rural setting unsupervised
  • 3.2 Previous Evidence of Emergency Services Experience 

    • Documentation of previous experience providing emergency services in a rural setting within the past 10 years, and 
    • Evidence of recent advanced emergency course completion, such as ALS2 or equivalent. 
  • 3.3 Evidence of ACEM Qualifications 

    • Copies of ACEM qualifications (Australasian College for Emergency Medicine or equivalent), and 
    • Supporting evidence that shows your qualifications meet the rural context of emergency care (e.g., rural emergency practice, remote contexts). 
    • Currency in maintaining emergency skills within the past 5 years, eg, completion of ALS2 level emergency courses 
  • 3.4 Evidence of meeting the outcomes of the Core EMT curriculum and logbook 


4. Curriculum Vitae (CV) 

  • Updated CV highlighting all relevant experience, training, and qualifications. 
  • Include details of all professional roles, clinical placements, and rural health experience. 

Additional Notes: 

  • Ensure all documentation is up-to-date, signed (if required), and formatted according to any specific requirements provided by the Rural Generalist Fellowship guidelines.
