About the program
Launching in March 2021, RACGP’s Practice to Practice will link metro, regional and rural practices to understand each other’s challenges, locum across practices and provide peer support. Whether you’re a solo GP or part of a large practice, this program offers a range of benefits.
Opportunities and support
Are you interested in going rural but feel you don’t have the support? Would you like to support your colleagues working in rural and remote communities? Would you like to create professional development opportunities for your team? Are you interested in expanding your network and connecting with GPs facing different challenges?
Get involved in the Practice to Practice program to find out what it’s like to work in a different geographic location, experience the challenges and access mentoring or training – all while receiving peer support from GPs already working in these communities. Working as a GP in another demographic will boost your professional development and open up new career possibilities. It’s also an opportunity to be part of a bigger purpose and make a difference to rural and remote health outcomes. RACGP Rural will provide guidelines and resources to help you make the most of the program.
Locum opportunities: locum in your sister practice, fill short workforce gaps and continue to meet community needs.
Peer support: access to GPs and sister practice teams to expand your network, exchange ideas and perspectives.
Professional development: opportunities for coaching, mentoring, work experience, training and advice.
National approach: maximise the benefits of existing relationships and increase opportunities for national practice links.
Rural exposure: experience rural challenges and benefits first-hand.
Make a difference: be part of a bigger purpose to help address health inequities.
