Dr Renee Strazzari is trained as a GP but is currently working as the Director of the Mid North Coast Regional Training Hub in Coffs Harbour, NSW. The Regional Training Hub’s vision is to improve the health of communities in the region by addressing the shortage of doctors in the area. They aim to have an integrated pipeline of medical training across the training continuum that provides a high quality, self-sustaining medical workforce that is responsive to the health needs of the Mid North Coast of NSW.
She is involved in a range of initiatives to increase student engagement in general practice. In particular around increased engagement from the early career stages with a focus on making the GP term more interesting and diverse, and accentuating the breadth of what general practice has to offer. She has also worked to develop a series of Wellness Workshops for medical students, junior medical officers, GPs and allied health professionals to manage stress and vicarious trauma.
Renee is the Clinical Lead of Healthy North Coast’s Healthpathways team and is involved in education and advisory work for the PHN. Healthpathways is an online health information portal that is used as a resource for general practice and by hospital and primary care clinicians in the community HealthPathways team.
She is the Chair of the Coffs Harbour Clinical Council and is passionate about advocating for general practice and improved health care for GPs and all health professionals.
