Dr Geetha Venkatram has been providing Quality health care in rural communities of Broadford and Kilmore for more than 20 years. She spends more than 3 hours on the road travelling from Melbourne, on a working day following her passion to make a difference to Rural Health.
She has worked in Broadford Medical Clinic, Kilmore Medical Centre and Kilmore District Hospital and has special interests in Women’s health and mental health.
During Covid crisis, she actively participated and was the first of few people to start the Covid Vaccination clinic in this area to vaccinate more than 10,000 patients.
She has significantly contributed to patient care by providing mental health services around the area, when the clinic had three doctors leave the clinic due to various reasons and had to take on more workload. She is one of the fellow doctors who cater to the needs of Veterans in this area.
She has mentored and supervised nearly 15 international medical graduate registrars in their journey to get the fellowship of the Royal College of General Practitioners. She continues to drive her passion to improve rural health.
Currently I work in Broadford Medical Clinic and in Niddrie with special interests in women’s health and mental health.*
Worked in women’s health and mental health and being a mother of 2 girls needing flexibility. I could use my clinical knowledge in women’s health, emergency medicine and mental health.
My grandparents were country people and granddad always wanted me to help the rural community.
Supporting the rural community and making a difference.
Managing difficult cases and being able to support the community in difficult times of COVID. Most of my patients appreciate the care and look forward to being there.

I have been in Broadford Medical Clinic for more than 20 years supporting the community by supervising mentoring fellow doctors.
