Dr Graeme ‘Bruce’ Roberts was instrumental in the establishment of the RACGP Queensland Faculty and a trailblazer in early Queensland medical circles. He was passionate about primary care and general practice, learning, education, and innovation. Bruce wanted the best on offer for his patients, his community, and his colleagues.
Dr Roberts was highly respected by his patients and colleagues, and was made a Life Fellow of the RACGP in 2006. Following his death in 2016, Dr Roberts left a generous bequest to the RACGP Queensland Faculty to develop and support ongoing education initiatives for GPs living and working in regional, rural and remote Queensland communities.
The Dr Roberts bequest has previously funded a range of training places and options for rural GPs and will continue to do so in consultations with external and internal stakeholders.
