On 27 May 2025, the Queensland Minister for Health announced they have committed incentive funds for the 2025 Queensland GP Trainee Incentive payments.

The program will provide incentive funds of a one-off payment of $40,000 for eligible GP trainees commencing GP training in Queensland during the 2025 calendar year, in a primary care training facility.

The Queensland Government and the RACGP are still finalising the funding arrangements and GP trainee funding terms and conditions. As soon as this is in place the RACGP will be able to commence the process to provide the funds to eligible GP trainees.
