In May 2025, the Queensland Minister for Health announced details for the QLD Health 2025 GP Trainee Incentive Scheme.

The scheme will provide incentive funds of a one-off payment of $40,000 for eligible GP trainees who commenced GP training full-time in Queensland during the 2025 calendar year, in a primary care training facility. Eligible part-time trainees can receive a pro-rata incentive payment.

The RACGP and ACRRM have been engaged by QLD Health to administer the scheme for their respective training pathways, including AGPT, FSP, PEP Specialist and RVTS.

The RACGP will be contacting eligible trainees during October 2025 with full details of the scheme and next steps in order to receive an incentive payment.
