About the RACGP Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Education Committee

The Education Committee provides advice and direction to RACGP Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health regarding education, vocational training and assessment issues relevant to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health. This Committee is a sub-committee of the RACGP Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Council.


Functions and Responsibilities

  • Enhance excellence in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health training and provide support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander registrars as part of general practice vocation training and post fellowship quality improvement and continuing professional development.
  • Provide advice to RACGP Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Council on priorities for RACGP Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health from an educational perspective including the development, implementation and review of an education work plan.
  • Consider any other matters relevant to general practice education as it relates to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health as required.

The Education Committee meets face to face once a year and also three times a year via teleconference. Committee terms are for a period of three years.
