Paul Wappett
Chief Executive Officer
Paul was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the RACGP in October 2021 after an extensive national search.
A lawyer by profession, Paul's previous positions have included CEO of the Australian Institute of Business from 2018–21 and Open Universities Australia from 2012–18, and legal and commercial roles at CPA Australia, the Western Bulldogs Football Club, Mobil Oil Australia and law firm Clayton Utz.
Paul was the Chairman of Berry Street, the largest child-protection agency in Victoria, between 2010 and 2018, and of corporate training company e3 Learning from 2013–16.
Paul is a sport tragic, a milkshake addict, an enthusiastic but ordinary guitarist, and – quite sadly, really – he is not quite ready to accept he will never open the batting for the Australian test cricket team.
Paul’s primary focus as RACGP CEO is ensuring general practice is positioned at the heart of healthcare in Australia.
