2022 Brisbane Fellowship & Awards Ceremony
Fellowship and Awards ceremonies are a highlight of the Faculty calendar as we celebrate the momentous achievements of New Fellow, FARGP and Award recipients. The 2022 ceremony is for New Fellows ratified between 1 September 2021 - 10 July 2022 and invited New Fellows that were unable to attend the 2021 ceremony.

The second of
two webinars designed for GPs in training, New Fellows and early career stage GPs to develop their clinical skills in the detection, treatment and management of skin cancers. Presented by Assoc Prof Amanda Oakley.
The workshops will focus on developing core skin cancer skills within general practice including:
- Diagnosis and management of non-melanoma skin cancers and melanomas
- Non-surgical treatments for the management of keratinocyte dysplasia
- Principles of biopsy and the role of the pathologist in the diagnosis of skin cancer

Update on skin cancer, eyelid and pero orbital reconstruction

Plastic and reconstructive surgery continues to evolve with new technologies and techniques and it is important to keep GPs updated as patients most often present in the primary care setting.
Professor Anand Deva will provide an update on skin cancer. He will also discuss the integrated care model of treatment for skin cancer and outline the benefits of this model. Associate Professor Gazi Hussain will provide an update on eyelid and periorbital reconstruction with a focus on the important factors for assessing the requirements for successful eyelid reconstruction.

General practice plays an important role in supporting patients through advance care planning. Join us for this webinar as GPs, Dr Jacquie Garton-Smith and Cory Lei provide an update on the changes to the WA Advance Health Directive (AHD) and the role of GPs in advance care planning, including supporting patients to prepare AHDs.
We'll also cover the updated Advance Care Planning WA HealthPathway and practical tips for GPs.

Skin Cancer Essentials - Wollongong
Assessment and management in the general practice setting

Skin cancer essentials is RACGP NSW&ACT workshop designed to upskill GPs in assessing and managing skin cancers in the general practice setting. The workshop provides practical learning experiences in dermoscopy, and a variety of biopsy and suturing techniques to equip GPs with the necessary skills to safely assess and manage their patients with skin cancers.
This workshop will be approved for a one-day Surgery grant.

RACGP Victoria's Basic Life Support course is a GP peer to peer experience, delivered by a GP trainer, Dr Rod Campain. This course covers recognition of an emergency, DRSABCD, chest compressions and rescue breathing using COVID-safe resuscitation masks and equipment.
It also includes a structured approach that GPs can use to treat all patients who may have a life threatening illness.

MATOD Program
Medication Assisted Treatment for Opioid Dependence (MATOD)
Module 1 - Safer Opioid Prescribing An introduction to implement safe and effective opioid prescribing and to recognise, prevent and respond to problematic opioid abuse.
Module 2 - Opioid Use Disorder, Pharmacology & dosing A comprehensive series of modules with videos and interviews with MATOD experts. It includes live zoom session that will allow participants to ask questions of the experts.
Module 3 - Long-acting injectable buprenorphine Builds on knowledge of prescribing and administering long-acting injection buprenorphine, including how to select, initiate and manage patients who are using these new opioid substitutions.

Introduction To Point-of-care Ultrasound - Tamworth, NSW
The 'Introduction to point-of-care ultrasound for GPs' workshop is designed to support rural GPs to increase their understanding of the applications of point-of-care ultrasound in the diagnostic process. The training is delivered by rural GPs, emergency physicians and sonographers who are experienced in using ultrasound in their practice environment.
This full-day workshop will give participants the opportunity to identify practical applications of ultrasound technology in general practice settings and gain hands-on experience in the use of point of care ultrasound devices under the guidance of experts.
The workshop is a CPD Accredited Activity under the RACGP CPD Program (eligible for 40 points) and is approved for all categories of the Rural Procedural Grants Program.
The workshop runs from 8.30am to 4.30pm and will be offered to RACGP members at $695 (incl. GST) and to non-members for $995 (incl. GST). Morning tea and lunch will be provided.
