Emergency Medicine for Rural GPs - Online

Designed and facilitated by experienced rural GPs and emergency specialists, the Emergency Medicine for Rural GPs workshop aims to enhance rural emergency medicine skills using case scenarios that reflect the challenges faced when living and working in rural and remote communities.

This online workshop involves four small-group interactive case scenario discussions as well as an exploration of the critical considerations involved in managing rural emergency cases, packaging patients for retrieval, communicating effectively with retrieval teams, debriefing and self-care. All the scenarios included in the workshop are written by experienced rural GPs from actual cases.

Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR - Fully Booked

This BLS course is run in conjunction with Medical Training Solutions and provides participants with topical emergency presentations and recent changes in emergency practice, tailored specifically for GPs.

This workshop is presented in accordance with the current guidelines of the Australian Resuscitation Council and covers all aspects of resuscitation and basic life support.

Completion of a BLS course is a requirement for the 2020-22 triennium.

We aim to offer this training in a COVID-safe manner. The session may be postponed or cancelled (with a full refund) if we believe that training cannot be held safely.

Introduction To Point-of-care Ultrasound - Mackay, QLD

The 'Introduction to point-of-care ultrasound for GPs' workshop is designed to support rural GPs to increase their understanding of the applications of point-of-care ultrasound in the diagnostic process. The training is delivered by rural GPs, emergency physicians and sonographers who are experienced in using ultrasound in their practice environment.

This full-day workshop will give participants the opportunity to identify practical applications of ultrasound technology in general practice settings and gain hands-on experience in the use of point of care ultrasound devices under the guidance of experts.

The workshop is a CPD Accredited Activity under the RACGP CPD Program (eligible for 40 points) and is approved for all categories of the Rural Procedural Grants Program.

The workshop runs from 8.30am to 4.30pm and will be offered to RACGP members at $695 (incl. GST) and to non-members for $995 (incl. GST). Morning tea and lunch will be provided.
