The My Health Record is Australia’s national electronic health record. The Australian Government has announced that by the end of 2018, every Australian known to Medicare or the Department of Veterans Affairs will have a My Health Record created for them, unless they choose to opt out between 16 July and 15 November 2018.
The RACGP is delivering a national education and awareness program to support general practice in the use of My Health Record and to help them understand how the expansion to an opt out model is likely to affect their practice and patients.
In addition, the RACGP has developed guidance materials and resources to support general practice in the use of My Health Record.
