My Health Record in general practice
With many GPs, pharmacies, hospitals, diagnostic imaging services and pathology labs now connected to My Health Record, there is vast amounts of information that can be used to guide health service planning, policy development and research to further improve patient outcomes and the healthcare system as a whole.
The Secondary use of My Health Record data is guided by a framework which provides details on how de-identified information can be used by researchers and for other public health purposes.
For more information on the secondary use of data and the framework to guide the use of this data, visit the Australian Digital Health Agency’s Secondary use of data webpage.
