The My Health Record is Australia's national electronic health record. In 2019, every Australian known to Medicare or the Department of Veterans Affairs had a My Health Record created for them, unless they chose to opt out between 16 July 2018 and 31 January 2019.
In 2018, the RACGP delivered a national education and awareness program which consisted of face-to-face workshops, webinars, and conferences to support general practice in the use of My Health Record and to help them understand how the expansion to an opt out model is likely to affect their practice and patients.
In addition, the RACGP has developed guidance materials and resources to support general practice in the use of My Health Record.
