What are online reviews?

Online reviews by consumers are the new 'word of mouth' for recommending goods and services, including general practices and individual medical practitioners. Online reviews can be useful for both consumers and healthcare providers but can also cause professional and ethical issues for general practitioners (GPs) when considering how and when to respond, especially when a review is unfavourable.
