Don Medical Clinic is a small, independently owned family general practice in Devonport Tasmania. Devonport is a regional city of 25000 people plus surrounding rural populations.  We were established in 2014 and in April 2018 we re-located to new larger purpose built premises.  Our new premises has 5 GP consulting rooms plus 2 nurse rooms and has been designed to be functional in its layout and located next to an independent pharmacy as well as an Independent supermarket which is known for its great local produce and its coffee shop.  (see our website gallery for a video tour of our practice). Devonport is only a 1 hour flight by Qantaslink to Melbourne.

Ideally we would like a GP to be able to work 3 to 4 days/week. We have high, new patient demand in the area with no local practices able to take on new patients at this time,  so plenty of opportunity for new GP to build a patient base of very loyal local people.  Our Practice prides itself on being youth friendly. This flows on to all age groups of patients.  Our practice offers comprehensive healthcare in all areas, but like our GPs to have an area of interest that can enhance their skills and the services we can offer as a practice.

We have established strong links to support services in our area promoting a collaborative approach to patient centred care.  Our principal GP, Dr Jane Cooper, has lived and worked on the local area all her life. Dr Cooper was awarded RACGP National GP of the year in 2016 for her work with young people in our area as well as her approach to teaching Medical students and Registrars in our area.

If you are looking for a practice in a great community, with opportunity to establish a patient base that will offer a fulfilling and rewarding career, then call and talk to our Business Manager Ian Abraham on 0408 247704.
