WEIPA PRIMARY HEALTH  

Role: Rural General Practice Trainee (1)Provides a high quality primary health care services to the community in keeping with the best practice standards. (2)Provides an appropriate care and service/s to patient/s of all age ranges and level of health care needs. (3)Responds to a medical/ health problems presented by patient/s including health or medical history, diagnosis, investigation, treatment and a referral when convenient. (4)Provides management of long-term conditions in line with national guidelines and pathways. (5)Prescribes for patient/s as appropriate to need. (6)Provides appropriate health promotion and preventative health care advice to all patients attending the practice. (7)Ordering diagnostic tests if required. (8)Referring patients to other providers and or specialists when appropriate.

We operate 5 clinics in remote East Arnhem land which provide access to health promotion, eye care & public health services to over 10,000 people; head office is based in Nhulunbuy which is a service hub for the East Arnhem region.

We are seeking experienced General Practitioners to join our wonderful team. As a member of our team you will require extensive experience in general practice & possess a commitment to primary health care; an ability to communicate sensitively with Indigenous Australians & an understanding of issues affecting the health & wellbeing of Indigenous Australians. You will operate as part of a multidisciplinary team that is focused on improving the health and welfare of Indigenous people.

 We offer a generous remuneration package with a salary range between $300 - 342K; flexible working arrangements including job share, fly in fly out opportunities with Nhulunbuy as your home base are available.

Base Salary commensurate with experience

Medical indemnity insurance rebate

AHPRA registration

A substantial employer superannuation contribution
