This key objectives of the position are 

 Lead the design of health info products & analyses & the establishment of a common client database platform

 Lead the program design & development of an extended scope of primary health care & wrap around services across the Melb Metro region

 Lead the design & establishment of an effective & efficient model of care to deliver quality clinic primary health care services & their integration with all other programs & services

Lead the development & implementation of a  VAHS Clinical Governance Framework to apply to all clinics operated by VAHS & to all programs that operate clinical functions  

Lead the development of a clinical workforce strategy for recruitment of accredited doctors & registrars and medical specialists for deployment into VAHS clinics & develop programs for their continuing professional development

The successful applicant will possess the following

 FRACGP – Master of Public Health or higher degree with unconditional registration through AHPRA

 Demonstrated senior management experience in a comparable not for profit, government or private sector organisation 

 Prior experience in running a multi-dimensional medical practice is highly desirable

 Demonstrated knowledge of Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services & the issues facing these org 

 Demonstrated ability to communicate & liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including GP’s, researchers, service mgrs & community representatives 

The demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of and lead a multi-disciplinary team

  • Compliance of Victorian Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 and all the rules, regulations and relevant Codes of Practice
  • Demonstrated understanding of working in a community controlled health service

  • Capacity to participate on Saturday morning roster

As a General Practitioner, you will work closely with the Senior Medical Officer, and other managers and staff, to implement the relevant objectives of the organisation by ensuring that the clinical services deliver a supportive, culturally appropriate, effective and efficient service in order that the health needs of clients and the community are met.

  • Unrestricted Specialist APHRA Registration;
  • Indigenous Health experience desired but not essential.
