Dr Karen Price
During the COVID pandemic, misinformation spread as quickly as the virus. That’s why our Expert Advice Matters campaign reminded the public that GPs are the real experts. We knew if we could encourage patients to turn to their GP, you’d take care of the rest.
We successfully lobbied the government to remove the bulk billing requirement for Medicare-subsidised telehealth services provided by GPs. We knew that by helping you, we’d be helping your patients too.
We ensured patients’ ongoing access to telehealth rebates until 30 June 2021. This represents hundreds of millions of dollars in additional investment and means GP care is flexible, convenient and efficient.
The RACGP supports GPs to have a powerful voice on government committees and at public enquiries. Your voice speaks up for your patients too.
The RACGP supports us to deliver quality care to the community and helps us access resources and protocols and to update our knowledge.
“As a doctor in training, the RACGP has been instrumental in preparing for my exams. The gplearning portal has all the resources we need to prepare and I use the Australian Journal of General Practice every day to expand my knowledge base and understand conditions.”
Dr John Ford
“The Expert Advice Matters campaign has played a really big role in people turning up to their GP for the correct information.
