This webinar will provide an update about the risks associate with payroll tax following recent decisions in New South Wales and Victoria.
 
The session will provide advice on what practice owners can do to mitigate their risks, covering key issues in determining whether GPs are employees or contractors. The webinar will also include case studies and provide advice on available supports and resources.
 
There will be an opportunity for attendees to ask questions of the presenters.

Dr Emil Djakic
Chair – RACGP Business Sustainability Working Group

Emil is a practice owner in north-west Tasmania. He is Deputy Chair of the RACGP Expert Committee – Funding and Health System Reform (REC-FHSR) and Chair of the RACGP’s Business Sustainability Working Group. He was also Chair of the Australian General Practice Network until 2012. Emil is passionate about working with GPs to maintain practice viability.

Michael is a Sydney-based GP and Avant’s Chief Medical Officer. His career includes general practice work in both urban and remote settings and across culturally diverse populations. He has been a practice owner, and a salaried and contractor GP. Michael is also an experienced researcher with a PhD in health economics, and he is a strong advocate for improving Australia’s health system.
