WA: HIV PrEP: What GPs Need To Know

Join Dr Jemma Dalrymple (Sexual Health Quarters (SHQ)) for an essential update on HIV prevention in general practice. This webinar will provide GPs with the latest practical guidance on HIV PrEP, including prescribing, monitoring, and supporting patients at risk of HIV infection. Dr Dalrymple will also discuss the emerging role of DoxyPEP (doxycycline post-exposure prophylaxis) as an additional prevention strategy for some patients.
Professor Donna Mak, Public Health Physician, Communicable Disease Control Directorate, Public and Aboriginal Health Division, WA Department of Health, will also present a brief epidemiology update.

Dr Jemma Dalrymple
Specialist GP
Dr Jemma Dalrymple is a Specialist GP and Medical Educator at SHQ with more than 10 years’ experience in general practice and a particular interest in sexual and reproductive health. As well as providing comprehensive sexual and reproductive healthcare, Dr Dalrymple is involved in designing and delivering teaching activities for doctors at SHQ including the SRHA Certificate course. Her clinical interests include contraception, abortion care, STIs, menopause, and LGBTQIA+ healthcare.
Professor Donna Mak
Public Health Physician
Professor Donna Mak is a Public Health Physician with the Communicable Disease Control Directorate, Public and Aboriginal Health Division, WA Department of Health, and Professor and Head of Population and Preventive Health at the University of Notre Dame Australia. She has extensive experience in communicable disease control, rural and remote health, Aboriginal health and medical education, with a strong focus on improving community health outcomes and supporting the development of the medical workforce.
