The ABCs of ACEs for GPs

Webinar 14 Apr, 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM (AEST)

This panel discussion will cover ACEs (adverse childhood experiences) and what they are, why they matter, how to assess them and what to do next.

Childhood trauma is far more common than many realize, and its impact can echo throughout an individual’s entire life. For general practitioners, caring for adult survivors of childhood abuse presents unique clinical and interpersonal challenges. From navigating complex medical and psychiatric diagnoses to building a therapeutic relationship that is both delicate and essential, GPs play a pivotal role in patient recovery.

Join us to increase your understanding and strengthen your practice in supporting this often-overlooked patient population.

Learning outcomes

  1. Discuss adverse childhood experiences and their effects on physical and mental health.
  2. Identify opportunities to promote better mental health outcomes for patients affected with ACEs.
