Strengthening clinical practices to safeguard adults vulnerable to abuse in their family, home and community

On-demand recorded 18 Apr 2023

Join experts from the NSW Ageing and Disability Commission in this interactive webinar where you will learn more about their role in responding to allegations of abuse of older people and adults with disability in their family, home and community, and key considerations for GPs when being contacted by or when making a report to us.

Learning outcomes

  1. Explain the role of the NSW Ageing and Disability Commission in responding to abuse, neglect and exploitation and how GPs can work with the ADC to uphold the rights of adults with disability and older people to live free from abuse
  2. Discuss barriers to reporting and responding to abuse, neglect and exploitation within clinical settings, including issues related to information sharing, legal concerns and confidentiality
  3. Discuss how you can strengthen your practice and engage with patients to better identify and respond to concerns about, or risks of, abuse, neglect and exploitation in the course of clinical practice.
