Safe travel abroad: Identifying and supporting patients visiting friends and relatives

Webinar 22 Apr, 7:30 PM - 8:30 PM (AEST)

With increasing overseas travel, not all patients will present for pre-travel health advice.

General practitioners are well placed to identify travelers and provide opportunistic preventative health advice including vaccinations. This webinar will give you practical, evidence‑based guidance to recognise travel‑related communicable disease risks, identify different traveler groups including those visiting friends and family (VFR), and provide tailored prevention and clinical advice.

Strengthen your confidence in supporting both holidaymakers and VFR travelers before and after their journeys against communicable disease risks overseas.

* CPD hours: Webinar EA 1 hour; with optional post-activity CPD: RP 1 hour and MO 1 hour activities.

Learning outcomes

  1. Describe the range of communicable disease risks for travelers.
  2. Understand ways to identify patients travelling for work/leisure and those visiting friends and relatives (VFR).
  3. Discuss risks and prevention strategies with travelers including VFR.
  4. Identify relevant clinical management for travelers and VFRs
