Adult attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in general practice
On-demand recorded 29 Mar 2023
Dr Jörg Strobel, adult psychiatrist from South Australia, with a special interest in ADHD, will be the guest speaker, giving an overview of the condition, with reference on the role of general practice in diagnosis and management.
This is of major interest to GPs as the condition has gained prominence in the public discourse and commonly GPs are approached with related inquiries. However, many adults are also missed diagnostically, as they do not necessarily present in easily recognisable ways, as such GPs must actively consider ADHD as a differential diagnosis.
The consequences of missed or delayed diagnosis are very significant.
The session will be chaired by Dr Carmel O’Toole, a founding member of the RACGP Specific Interests ADHD, ASD and Neurodiversity.
