This webinar will discuss the rarer forms of dementia, such as Lewy Body, Parkinson’s disease dementia and how a GP identify these in clinical practice, what to look for, how to support patients and resources that we might find helpful.

  1. Differentiate the main characteristics of Lewy Body dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
  2. Summarise the key features of Frontotemporal dementia.
  3. Determine the relevance of LATE (Limbic-predominant Age-related TDP 43 encephalopathy) in general practice

Dr Stephanie Daly
GP Educator, Dementia Training Australia

Dr Steph Daly is a specialist GP in Dementia. She is a fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners and has completed post-graduate training in Dementia Studies at the University of Bradford in the UK. More recently since moving to Australia she has become an advocate for patients living with Dementia and has facilitated the practice she works at becoming one of the first dementia-friendly (Dementia Australia approved) GP surgery’s in Australia.

Dr Rebecca Moore
Medical educator – Dementia Training Australia

Dr Rebecca Moore graduated from the University of Adelaide and completed her RACGP fellowship whist working as an Aviation Medical Officer in the RAAF. She has worked in General Practice and urgent care in the UK and Australia and now fosters a special interest in geriatric medicine. She completed a Master’s degree in dementia in 2024. Rebecca also works with Dementia Training Australia as one of their medical educators.

Professor Amy Brodtmann
Stroke and Cognitive Neurologist, MD, PhD, Monash University

Professor Amy Brodtmann is a stroke and cognitive neurologist and clinician-researcher at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Monash University, respectively. Amy’s research focuses on identifying risk and protective factors for late-life cognitive impairment and dementia. Her special interest is in frontotemporal dementia, imaging and blood biomarkers, and vascular contributions to late-life cognitive impairment. She has made significant contributions to dementia treatment, care, and research in Australia and internationally. Amy is member or president of several domestic and international dementia, neurology and stroke associations, including the American Academy of Neurology – the largest neurology organisation in the world.
