Dr Wei-May Su
Chair, RACGP Specific Interests Abuse and Violence in Families

Dr Wei-May Su, is an academic GP and supervisor with specific interests in mental health, complexity, and abuse and violence. She continues part time clinical alongside academic roles. She is Academic Lead (GP), facilitating the multidisciplinary Master of Psychiatric Medicine and the Master of Applied Mental Health Studies at HETI Higher Education, Australia, and is Higher Degree Research Candidate at the Translational Health Research Institute (THRI), Western Sydney Uni on the topic of abuse and violence. She is co-author of the Royal Australian College of General Practice (RACGP) Guideline of Abuse and Violence (White Book).

A/Prof Jennifer Neil
GP and Educator with The University of Melbourne and Monash University

A/Prof Jennifer Neil is an academic GP with extensive experience in medical education. She is the Curriculum and Assessment Lead of General Practice at Monash University and will shortly be taking on the role of Head of Curriculum for the Monash Medical School. She holds a Masters in Clinical Education. She is also a family violence educator and researcher having trained hundreds of health professionals across Australia. She is secretary for the WONCA (World family doctor organisation) Special Interest Group on Family Violence and deputy chair of the RACGP Specific Interest Group on Abuse and Violence in Families. Jenny continues to work clinically as a GP with interests in mental health, chronic disease management and supporting survivors of family violence.

Dr Bernard Shiu
Director of Geelong Long Covid Clinic and Banksia Medical Centre in Newcomb and Torquay

Dr Bernard Shiu is the Director of Geelong Long Covid Clinic and Banksia Medical Centre in Newcomb and Torquay. He was the winner of the prestigious RACGP GP of the Year Award in 2020 in Victoria. His clinic was awarded the Victorian Clinic of the year in 2023. He was invited to speak at the recent Long Covid Conference in Melbourne on Primary Care management pathway for Long Covid. He is also a member of the National Clinical Evidence Task Force. Dr Shiu established the Australia first community based Long Covid Clinic back in June 2022. His current main clinical and research interests are management of Covid and Long Covid conditions.

Dr Karen Spielman

Dr Karen Spielman is a GP and director of a small group private general practice in Sydney, where she has been for nearly 20 years, seeing many people with chronic complex issues. She has also worked in Youth Health, in various roles and settings, and is now Clinical Lead GP at Headspace Bondi. Dr Spielman holds RACGP Recognition of Extended Skills in Psychological Medicine and has a special interest in Eating Disorders, Mental Health and chronic complex medical conditions.

Dr Adele Stewart
Chair, RACGP Specific Interests Pain Management and Accredited Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Teacher

Dr Adele Stewart MBBS FRACGP has been a GP for over 30 years in the Illawarra. Adele has gained Recognition of Extended Skills in Psychological Medicine for Fellows of the RACGP. Her special interests include pain neuroscience, complex trauma, mindfulness and chronic pelvic pain. Adele is a certified Mindfulness Teacher and has co-created a successful mindfulness programme for patients experiencing chronic pain “Pain to Peace”.
