Dr David Speers is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia, and the Australasian College of Tropical Medicine. He is the medical lead for the molecular diagnostics and pathogen genomics services at PathWest QEIIMC, where mpox diagnostic PCR testing and genomics are performed, an ID physician and the Infection Prevention medical lead for the Sir Charles Gairdner Osborne Park Hospital Care Group. He is a member of the Public Health Laboratory Network of Australia and the Communicable Diseases Genomics Network of Australia.
