WA: Monitored Medicines Prescribing Code changes

The Monitored Medicines Prescribing Code came into effect on 12 December 2024, replacing the Schedule 8 Prescribing Code. This update focuses on the key changes to the prescribing of monitored medicines under the Code, including changes to the prescription of S8 stimulant medicines, medicinal cannabis and opioids as well as changes regarding ScriptCheckWA .

Meeghan is a graduate of Curtin University and spent her early career in community pharmacy in the Great Southern, WA.
Meeghan later moved to hospital pharmacy, and along the way completed post graduate studies in Clinical Pharmacy and Complementary Medicines.
In recent years Meeghan has transitioned to working as the Chief Pharmacist for WA Country Health Service and now as the Chief Pharmacist at Medicines and Poisons Regulation Branch.
