This instalment of the Rural Health Webinar Series will explore the assessment and emergency management of patients presenting after head trauma to the rural clinic or ED setting. Through a series of cases, GP participants will learn about the latest evidence-based guidelines for both adult and paediatric head trauma.

  2. Outline appropriate steps in the assessment of children with head injury.
  3. Apply appropriate stabilisation and initial management processes in a patient with severe head trauma.

Dr Rhiannon Browne
Emergency Physician

Dr Rhiannon Browne is an Emergency Physician practising at Campbelltown Hospital in South-West Sydney and a Conjoint Lecturer at Western Sydney University. Dr Browne represents NSW on ACEM’s Council of Advocacy, Practice and Partnerships and is a member of the ACEM Standards and Endorsement Committee. They are also a co-founder of NoWEM, the Network of Women in Emergency Medicine, as well as an Advanced Paediatric Life Support instructor.
