'Mental bites' webinar series - Eating disorders

On-demand recorded 4 Aug 2022

‘Mental bites’ is a new lunch-time series with bite-sized information presented by the Psychological Medicine Specific Interest group. GPs are  aware of mental health assessments, diagnosis, and management, but this series will be an opportunity to learn more about how to do the work - the micro-skills of engagement, forming safe and effective therapeutic alliances and communication with patients. This webinar, the sixth in the series will focus on eating disorders and feature a practical skill GPs can use whilst treating and communicating with patients. There will be a Q&A with a skilled expert in this field.

Learning outcomes

  1. To identify micro skills available to engage with patients and their mental health
  2. Apply techniques to form safe and effective therapeutic communication with patients
