Hepatitis C Testing and Treatment Update 2021

On-demand recorded 5 Aug 2021

This webinar aims to increase GP confidence in identifying patients for testing, prescribing DAAs and understanding when specialist referral is needed for HCV care. It also provides guidance on how to identify priority populations for testing and how to engage a diverse range of patients in testing and treatment with or without specialist assistance, along with information about alternative testing options and patient support services.

Learning outcomes

  1. Identify patients at risk of hepatitis C infection and initiate testing discussions using appropriate and sensitive language
  2. Understand changes to HCV National Testing Guidelines and the new, simpler testing requirements for prescribing pan-genotypic treatments
  3. Explain the new DAA HCV treatment to patients
  4. Identify when a patient should be referred for specialist care or further support, and know the appropriate referral pathways
