Dr Sam Daneshjoo

Dr Sam Daneshjoo is a medical advisor in the Environmental Health Branch of NSW Health. She is a 2022 RACGP fellow and has previously worked in general practice in Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains. She has a masters in public health and a masters in health leadership and management is currently working towards her fellowship in public health medicine.
Professor Ollie Jay
Professor of Heat and Health & Director - Heat and Health Research Centre
Ollie Jay is Professor of Heat and Health and Director of the Heat and Health Research Centre at the University of Sydney. Ollie is a NHMRC Leadership Fellow and has led several large-scale projects that have directly influenced international public health heatwave policies internationally. He recently partnered with Google to deliver his team's research on evidence-based personal cooling strategies worldwide through automated heat warning alerts in Google Chrome. He has led extreme heat policy development for a variety of sports including Tennis Australia (Australian Open), and was the Lead Heat Consultant for the Australian Olympic Team at the Paris 2024 games. In 2021, Ollie co-led the first-ever Series on Heat and Health in The Lancet. He has also published his research in the New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, Lancet Planetary Health, and Nature Communications. Since 2024, Ollie has served as a Global Working Group Chair for the Lancet Countdown on Climate Change and Health.
