Facilitator

Dr Franziska Levin
Specialist GP

Dr Franziska Levin moved to Australia in 2018 after completing her GP training in the UK. Her first experience of Australia was at a high school exchange year in 1997 where she met her partner. Originally from Germany, she studied medicine in Germany and in Italy before moving to the UK in 2006 for her postgraduate training. After some time in general medicine and paediatrics she chose to specialise in GP. She very much enjoys general practice and it helped to develop her UK practice into a centre of excellence for intellectual disability. For these efforts she was awarded UK GP trainee of the year in 2018. Her journey in Australia started in Melbourne and led her through several corporate and private GP practices, and various Covid-19 projects into community health. She has fully embraced her opportunities here and joined the RACGP New Fellows Committee, and has participated in mentoring and the Future Leaders program.

Speakers

Dr Clara Chu

Dr Clara Chu has been working as a General Practitioner since 2007. She is a fellow of the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine and is a HCANZA certified Health Coach. Her special interests include assisting patients with the prevention, management and reversal of chronic disease through lifestyle modifications. She enjoys using a coaching approach to motivate and guide her patients towards improved physical and mental wellbeing. Her goals for 2023 are to start some shared medical appointments for her patients in Sydney and run a half marathon.

Dr Clea Alexander

Dr Clea Alexander has been working as a General Practitioner since 2010. She has a particular interest in preventative health, mental health and wellbeing, and the use of lifestyle interventions to prevent and manage chronic disease. She holds a fellowship of the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine (ASLM). She is in the process of completing a health coaching certification, and is working towards incorporating 'group consultations', (otherwise known as 'shared medical appointments') into her practice in 2023.

Dr Kelly-Anne Garnier

Following a career in the financial services industry, Dr Kelly-Anne Garnier has been working in General Practice since 2016. She has dual Fellowships in General Practice and Lifestyle Medicine and is passionate about empowering others in their own healthcare journey - particularly adults in the areas of prevention, treatment and reversal of chronic disease and mental health. In her personal business, she also coaches and counsels others often in the space of burnout and professional stressors. Her goals for 2023 include incorporating Shared Medical Appointments into her service delivery model and improving her terrible golf handicap.
