This webinar will explain the circumstances in which GPs should issue a Medical Certificate of Cause of Death, take you through the context of how the certificate came into its current form, and focus on the practical aspects of MCCD completion. We will review a range of familiar examples and scenarios, and provide you with sources of further information and support.

  1. Determine when a Medical Certificate of Cause of Death (MCCD) should be issued for a death
  2. Discuss the context, phrasing and sequencing of the Medical Certificate Cause of Death
  3. Complete a Medical Certificate Cause of Death
  4. Be aware of support and guidance on completing a MCCD, reporting a death to the Coroner and advice on the coronial process
