2021 vaccination update: COVID19 and influenza

On-demand recorded 9 Feb 2021

The Australian COVID-19 vaccination program is scheduled to commence earlier than expected, with a predicted start date in mid February. This webinar, presented in partnership with the WA Department of Health provides GPs with a comprehensive overview of the COVID-19 vaccination program.

Hear about how the rollout will be organised, availability of doses, the process of selection to deliver and vaccine safety concerns.

This webinar also covers the influenza vaccination schedule for 2021 and explores the importance of this vaccination despite the lower incidences of Influenza last year and how the timing of administration will be influenced by the COVID vaccine.

Learning outcomes

  1. Identify the vaccine candidates currently available, the process of selection for a clinic to deliver and what constitutes a “priority group” for the initial rollout.
  2. Describe the requirements for post-vaccination observation, dosage numbers and storage.
  3. Recognise the continued importance of the influenza vaccination
