International Women's Day 2025 - Queensland
In-person 8 Mar, 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM (AEST)
Join us in celebrating International Women’s Day 2025 in Brisbane.
‘March Forward’ this International Women’s Day 2025 as we celebrate 30 years since the United Nation’s Beijing Declaration, a bold vision for gender equality.
Women have broken barriers, reshaped policies, and ignited powerful movements, yet systemic inequalities, rising violence, and economic disparities still prevent millions of women from reaching their full potential. Progress isn’t just about reflection, it’s about taking bold decisive steps to create a truly equal future for all women and girls.
Join Dr Cath Hester, Chair RACGP Queensland, and Margaret Cook, an award-winning Brisbane historian, heritage consultant and author, for a guided walk along the Brisbane River and Breakfast Creek areas adjacent to the RACGPs Brisbane office. The walk and discussion will explore the local river walks and how women have shaped the “River City” and continue to march forward.
Meet at the RACGP Queensland office, 80 Kingsford Smith Drive, Albion for a 2.00 pm start.
Wear comfortable casual clothes, sunhat, walking shoes. RACGP will provide sunscreen and water bottles.
The event will include afternoon tea with tea, coffee, fresh juices and healthy finger food snacks served at the RACGP office.
The river walk is fully paved flat ground, and suitable of all.
A wet weather alternative to the river walk is available if required.
