Learning outcomes
- Discuss the various forms of family violence
- Identify indicators that a person might be experiencing family abuse or violence
- Manage patient’s disclosure of information relevant to family violence in a sensitive and timely manner
- Describe the DV-related referral and support pathways
- Outline the responsibilities of GPs under the new Information Sharing Schemes and MARAM Framework

Dr Cathy Andronis
Chair, RACGP Specific Interests Psychological Medicine
Dr Cathy Andronis works as a GP and psychotherapist in inner Melbourne and is a qualified family therapist.
She is the current chair of the RACGP SI in psychological medicine, a member of the Victorian RACGP-RANZP liaison sub-committee, and is the RACGP representative for Mental Health Australia and the MHPN clinical education committee.
Cathy is an experienced facilitator of case consultation groups for RACGP and ASPM and a provider of clinical supervision. She is the GP lead at Deakin University Eastern Health Clinical School.
