Professional Certificate of Medical Nutrition Management

This course is the first part of the three-part Professional Diploma of Medical Nutrition Management. On completion of this activity, the practitioner should be able to:
  • develop a checklist to identify patient dietary concerns and the role of dietary guidelines when developing management plans for patients
  • evaluate the role of nutrition and diet in the aetiology of nutrition-related diseases including gastrointestinal conditions, to respond to patient needs
  • appraise the role of popular diets, and the use of vitamin and mineral supplements for managing patient dietary concerns
  • assess and manage risk with patients presenting with malnutrition concerns including the elderly patient
  • undertake a comprehensive assessment of weight loss and weight management including pre and post operation bariatric care.
