About Us

GPTR is an established contributor to educational research worldwide

The RACGP GP Training Research team is committed to conducting rigorous research into GP education and training. We’ve published over 250 peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers relevant locally, nationally and internationally for general practice education and training. Through collaborations with Australian and international researchers, medical educators, GP supervisors, GP registrars, and medical students, we promote evidence-based practice in GP training and mentor the next generation of researchers.

Our research activities are wide-ranging, with the centrepiece of our research program being the Registrar Clinical Encounters in Training (ReCEnT) project - a flagship general practice education and training project and the first of its kind to document Australian GP registrars' educational and clinical experiences over time.
