South Australian GP named 2017 General Practice Registrar of the Year

The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) is delighted to announce that Dr Adelaide Boylan, a GP from Adelaide, South Australia has been awarded the 2017 RACGP General Practice Registrar of the Year.

The award recognises the outstanding commitment made by a general practice registrar to the general practice profession, to advancing their education and to the provision of high-quality patient care.

RACGP President Dr Bastian Seidel presented the award at the RACGP’s annual conference – GP17 – in Sydney. Dr Seidel said Dr Boylan was a standout nominee for her exceptional patient care and enthusiastic approach to her tutorials and clinical meetings.

“Although in the early stages of her career in general practice, Dr Boylan is already highly respected for her inspiring, intelligent, considered and enthusiastic approach to her role and her education,” Dr Seidel said.

“She serves and advocates for her patients with grace and care, often visiting her patients outside of her allocated hours and managing their needs on a 24/7 basis.”

Dr Seidel said Dr Boylan is a wonderful ambassador for general practice.

“Dr Boylan constantly strives to make a contribution to our profession,” Dr Seidel said.

“She truly lives and breathes general practice. I am sure she will have a remarkable career and improve the lives of all of her patients and colleagues.”

Dr Boylan is a GP by nature and choice. She completed a law degree before deciding she could serve people better as a GP. Dr Boylan works at GenWise Healthcare and teaches in the Health Sciences department of the University of Adelaide.

GP17 runs from 26–28 October 2017 at the International Conference Centre in Sydney. Visit the GP17 website for more information.
