The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) warmly congratulates all general practitioners and healthcare professionals honoured in the 2017 Queen’s Birthday Honours List.
President of the RACGP Dr Bastian Seidel said he was proud to see GPs celebrated for their dedication to healthcare and services to their communities.
“Every day GPs work to make a life-changing contribution to the Australian community,” Dr Seidel said.
“It is always special to see my colleagues’ achievements, generosity and passion to improve Australians’ lives celebrated by the broader community.
“These prestigious awards celebrate these outstanding contributions and achievements of extraordinary Australians whose service has made a significant difference to Australian life or to humanity at large.”
Dr Seidel highlighted the work of Dr Tim Mooney and Dr Catherine Regan who each received a Member (AM) Award in the General Division for their significant services to medicine.
Tasmanian GP Dr Mooney was awarded for his service to medicine through a range of multiple practice role, to doctors in rural and remote areas, and to the community. New South Wales GP Dr Regan was awarded for her significant service to medicine in the field of general practice training education, and to the community of the Hunter.
The RACGP acknowledges the following RACGP members honoured in the 2017 Queen’s Birthday Honours List:
Members (AM) in the General Division
Order of Australia Medals (OAM) in the General Division
The RACGP acknowledges all other general practitioners and healthcare professionals recognised in the 2017 Queen’s Birthday Honours List.
