WA doctor awarded 2015 RACGP General Practice Supervisor of the Year

The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) is proud to announce Dr Cathryn Milligan, of Margaret River, Western Australia, as the recipient of the 2015 RACGP General Practice Supervisor of the Year Award.

This prestigious award recognises the dedication of a GP who has significantly contributed towards the training and mentoring of general practice registrars, leading by example and inspiring those coming through the system to gain a strong appreciation of the general practice profession.

Presenting the award on the eve of the GP15 conference in Melbourne, RACGP President Dr Frank R Jones congratulated Dr Milligan for her long-standing commitment to teaching registrars and medical students.

“Dr Milligan has an outstanding reputation as a teacher and mentor. Her work ethic and passion for teaching has led her to be the ‘go-to’ GP educator for registrars and medical students from the University of Western Australia and Notre Dame University,” Dr Jones said.

“She has also worked as a medical coordinator and associate professor at the Rural Clinical School in Busselton, which is a testament to her dedication to education.

“Dr Milligan’s skills and knowledge are outstanding. Her long list of qualifications include aviation medical examiner and she has worked with the Rural Flying Doctors Service conducting clinics in remote areas.”

GP15 – the RACGP’s annual conference for general practice – runs from September 21-23 at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre. Visit the GP15 website
