The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) is proud to announce Dr Ashlea Broomfield, of Woolgoolga and Northern Beaches Medical Centre, NSW, as the recipient of the 2015 RACGP General Practice Registrar of the Year Award.
The award recognises the strong commitment made by a general practice registrar to learning, the general practice profession and provision of high quality patient care.
Presenting the award on the eve of the GP15 conference in Melbourne, RACGP President, Dr Frank R Jones, congratulated Dr Broomfield for her enthusiasm and dedication to providing better learning opportunities, fairer pay and better conditions for GP registrars.
“Dr Broomfield is an asset to general practice, her passion for education is outstanding and she is highly regarded as a pillar of support and encouragement to her fellow registrars,” Dr Jones said.
“She has been a registrar with North Coast GP Training since 2013 and, in the past 12 months, has worked on a number of projects to benefit her team, including a study group matching scheme and a survey asking registrars what they look for in practices.
“Dr Broomfield has been a great advocate for registrars at a state and national level and was recently elected as chair of the General Practice Registrar Medical Educator Network.”
GP15 – the RACGP’s annual conference for general practice – runs from September 21-23 at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre. Visit the GP15 website for more information.
