The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) congratulates all general practitioners and healthcare professionals recognised in the Australia Day 2015 Honours Lists and applauds them for their exceptional contribution to the communities they serve.
These esteemed awards celebrate the outstanding achievements and contributions of extraordinary Australians whose service has made a significant difference to Australian life or to humanity at large.
RACGP President, Dr Frank R Jones, said the awards reflect the immeasurable value GPs bring to every Australian community as the providers of front-line healthcare services.
“It brings me enormous pride to congratulate my colleagues for upholding the values of general practice and providing exceptional person-centered care,” said Dr Jones.
“General practice is the linchpin of a strong and effective healthcare system and the foundation of a healthy Australia.
“GPs are the only medical specialists that offer whole-person, contextual and continuous care, looking at the entire scope of social and physical factors that can impact on a patient’s health.
“The recipients of these awards represent the ongoing commitment of all Australian GPs to enhancing quality of care and access to health services for those living in both rural and metropolitan areas.
“The RACGP is immensely proud of all GPs and healthcare professionals colleagues named on the honours list for their outstanding commitment to their patients and communities.”
