Only one week to go until GPs flock South to Adelaide

In just one week’s time, over 1,100 GPs will travel from every corner of Australia to attend the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners’ (RACGP) annual conference, GP14, from 9–11 October in Adelaide.

The theme for this year’s conference is ‘Lead. Inspire.’ and delegates will investigate the role of GPs as leaders in the community and their ability to inspire a healthier Australia.

RACGP President, Dr Liz Marles said the conference is the premiere event on the general practice calendar, providing delegates with a stimulating program of keynote speakers and the opportunity to strengthen collegial connections.

“With much uncertainty surrounding the profession, the conference is an important time for GPs to convene and discuss a range of issues impacting general practice as well as celebrating the future of the profession by welcoming new Fellows to the RACGP community,” said Dr Marles.

“The RACGP’s annual conference is a fantastic opportunity for GPs to upskill in areas of clinical interest and discuss new and emerging developments in general practice.

“The social program also allows GPs to celebrate the year’s successes and network with colleagues from all around the country.

“Adelaide is a fantastic setting for GP14 and delegates will have the opportunity to visit some of the city’s most iconic venues including the new South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI) for World Mental Health Day and Adelaide Oval for the inaugural gala dinner.”

The exhibition hall has long sold out and attendees can expect a world class display of over 100 stalls and exhibition stage presentations throughout the conference.

GP14 is the fastest selling conference to date with many educational activities already booked out. Interested delegates are encouraged to register now to avoid disappointment. For more information and to register, visit the GP14 website.

Media representatives are encouraged to attend GP14 and can now register for a complimentary pass via the media registration site.
