RACGP congratulates Australian GPs on Australia Day Honours

The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) applauds the outstanding contribution made to Australian communities by all general practitioners and healthcare professionals honoured in the Australia Day 2014 Honours Lists.

These prestigious awards celebrate the outstanding achievements and contributions of extraordinary Australians whose service has made a significant difference to Australian life or to humanity at large.

RACGP President, Dr Liz Marles, said the awards are testament to the ongoing commitment of GPs to enhance quality of care and access to health services for all people living in Australia in both rural and metropolitan settings.

“General practice is at the forefront of healthcare for all Australian communities and is in a very strong position to positively influence the lives of all Australians.

“The general practice profession should be immensely proud of all those colleagues named on the honours list for their outstanding efforts and commitment to primary healthcare and community well-being,” said Dr Marles.

The RACGP acknowledges all general practitioners and healthcare professionals recognised in the 2014 Australia Day Honours List on its website.

If there is anyone missing from the list published on the RACGP website that received an Honour on Australia Day 2014, the RACGP would appreciate you sharing this knowledge so it can publically acknowledge the significant contribution made to the Australian community. Information on Honour recipients can be emailed to media@racgp.org.au.
