Help shape the national vocational training syllabus

We’re developing a national vocational training syllabus to better support GPs in training on their journey to Fellowship.
 
Join us at a focus group between 7­–25 June to share your insight and experiences, and ensure the new syllabus fits the needs of trainees, supervisors, and educators.

Applications for the 2022 Academic Post Program are now open

The Academic Post Program is an Australian General Practice Training (AGPT) Program term for GPs in training, encouraging the development of academic skills through individualised learning plans and support from training providers, universities and the RACGP.

The post allows registrars to gain experience in research and teaching in an academic environment, as well as incorporating academic work into their career.

There are several academic posts that registrars can apply for, including the Australian Journal of General Practice (AJGP) Post, and Australian Indigenous Doctors’ Association (AIDA) Post.

Applications for the program close 5 July 2021.

Identifying developmental concerns in school-aged children

A child’s mental health is intimately tied to their development and their developmental needs. It’s important for GPs to understand a child’s developmental journey so that they can respond to children in ways that are appropriate to their age.
 
Presented by the RACGP and Emerging Minds, this free webinar will explore how ‘typical development’ is defined in children aged 5–12, and the relationship between mental health difficulties and developmental difficulties in school-aged children.
 
Participants will learn how to identify developmental concerns and apply effective management approaches to support children with developmental challenges.
